a place to grow. a place to connect.
Helping families to stay connected, strengthen relationships and create positive change.
Our Story
Heather Vliet, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), founded NW Counseling Associates (NCA) in 2014. She envisioned a clinic that would not only foster healing and growth for children, teens, and families, but also provide clinicians with a supportive and inspiring environment to do their best work.
As a team, we recognize the increasing need for specialized mental health care that meets the unique needs of children and families. Our goal is to create a safe and welcoming place where children and teens feel understood and supported, and where families can access the guidance and resources they need to face life's challenges. We are also committed to the growth and development of new professionals in the field who will go on to serve our community as highly trained, specialized practitioners.

Our Approach.
Challenges offer us an opportunity to become a stronger, more confident version of our authentic selves. Sometimes children and teens, as well as the adults that love them, need support and encouragement to move beyond a particular season in their growth. Our approach to working with individuals and families is to call upon their unique strengths to find solutions that will meet their needs. We utilize feedback from our clients to create strong partnerships that are in line with their goals and needs. Our work is collaborative, respectful and creative.
